This course is intended as a supplement to Dangerous Goods training for Air, Ground or Vessel. Upon completion of the course, the student will have a better understanding of the current regulations involving shipping and handling of lithium batteries. Avoid fines, penalties, shipment delays and embarrassment by completing your training as soon as possible.

  • Apply applicable 49 CFR, IATA and IMDG regulations correctly to your Lithium Battery shipments.
  • Understand the different types, sizes and uses of lithium batteries.
  • Definitions of components and measurements associated with Lithium Batteries.
  • Understand Lithium Battery hazard class and proper shipping names.
  • Validate that Lithium Battery packaging complies with the limitations of U.N. Certified Specification Packaging.
  • Properly mark and label Lithium Battery packages or verify compliance.
  • Complete a Hazardous Materials Shipping Paper (Ground, U.S. Highway) or a Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods by Air or Vessel for Dangerous Good(s) being shipped.
  • Understand the requirements for security and emergency response as they relate to shipments of Dangerous Goods.
  • Understand the requirements for training as required by the appropriate national authorities.

The Bureau of Dangerous Goods On-site training classes are taught by recognized professionals whose emphasis is on safety and compliance with the Regulations.
